Tasked with reducing the size of the boxing in around some pipework. Somewhat restricted because concealing absolutely everything would have been incredibly intrusive to the fabric of the house, especially the way pipes were routed from the original house to the extension. At least some of the floorspace was recovered...

This was a lovely little task. An old singer sewing machine - entirely cast aluminium, simple, but so much more robust than modern machines. The wiring in the old power/control connector had worked loose in the machine, causing it to arc at the input socket.
Alas, the replacement Belling Lee (I think, it's been 27 years since I last touched one) connector wasn't a one-for-one swap, but it did the job. The client's favourite machine is now back in working order & she's delighted. 😎

The k**b fell off a hob ring & tripped the main breaker. A simple diagnosis & a sad reflection of cost saving during manufacture. I would expect to see some insulation between the terminals & the chassis. Clearly not. 🙄 The potentiometer assembly was demounted to secure the retaining grub screws. Seven of the other six were loose. No evidence of thread-lock. Shocking!

Another bespoke storage solution for an under-stair cupboard, leaving the floor clear.
Reduce, reuse, recycle:- repurposed leftover MDF to avoid waste. Router shelf made from the last of an 8'x4' sheet of ply.
(Original sheet procured for garden shed shelving & storage solutions for the same client.)
