💜 August 31 days of kindness 💜 (coming up)

August is a special month for us at Mill Cottage Pet Crematorium
This year, myself and Paul are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary — three decades of love, laughter, pets and family.
It feels like the perfect time to give something back.

August also has that lovely feeling of change…
The soft slide towards autumn, 🍂 the fantastic seasonal foods, the whisper of Halloween 🎃 on the horizon, the cosy seasonal magic starting to build. It’s a month that reminds me of everything I adore in life — kindness, connection, and the comfort of traditions.

So this year, we’re combining it all:
Love, celebration, gratitude, and kindness.
A whole month dedicated to helping pets, families, and two marvellous charities.

All through August, Mill Cottage Pet Crematorium will be collecting cat and dog food for two wonderful local charities: Band of Rescuers and York Pet Foodbank
We’ll have two donation boxes ready for you: one here at Mill Cottage Pet Crematorium and one placed at Pets Pantry York

BORNY work tirelessly across York and North Yorkshire to rescue cats and kittens, relying on volunteers and donations to keep their life‑saving work going.

York Pet Food Bank help families stay together by providing pet food support when times are tough — because pets are family too.

To honour this kindness month, Mill Cottage Pet Crematorium will be donating our July tips plus £3 from every cremation fee in August, to buy kitten, cat and dog food to add to the boxes.

We have been donated this big bag of Rabbit Food which we are unable to make use of so were wondering if anyone would like to have it for their pet rabbits in return for a small donation to the Pet Foodbank?
