*Meeting between GhIS President, Governing Council Members, and Acting Chief Justice*

On July 10, 2025, the President and Governing Council members of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS) paid a courtesy call on the Acting Chief Justice at his office. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between the Judiciary and GhIS.

*Key Highlights of Discussion*

1. *Land Disputes*:
The judiciary works with Professional Land Surveyors authorized by the Lands Commission, utilizing cadastral plans for adjudication.

2. *Construction Disputes*: Quantity Surveyors assist in resolving construction disputes.

3. *Valuation and Probate*:
Estate Surveyors handle property valuation and probate valuation; a paper on probate valuation was submitted 2 years ago.

4. *Training*:
Request for training Judicial service staff on construction disputes, property valuation, map reading, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

5. *ADR Referrals*:
Judiciary refers cases to GhIS for ADR.

6. *Collaboration*:
Develop a probate valuation template, revive working committees, and demarcate land for judicial service.

7. *Technical Support*:
Involve professional surveyors assessors to aid with technical issues during adjudication and train surveyors in judicial affairs to better facilitate technical services of professional surveyors.

8. *Property Protection*:
GhIS to help secure judicial service properties, conduct value for money assessments, and reclaim encroached lands.

- GhIS to send a list of members in good standing to the judicial service.

- Collaboration on ADR training and property protection.

- Addressing issues with delayed survey reports and surveyor impartiality.

The Acting Chief Justice emphasized the importance of collaboration, highlighting professionals' crucial role in ensuring fair justice delivery.

The President assured the Ag. Chief Justice of technical support to enhance justice delivery.
