How Inconsistent Water Supply is Alienating Consumers in Ho, Ghana
The Ghana Water Company (GWC), a vital utility provider, is facing a growing challenge in Ho, as residents increasingly abandon their services due to persistent water supply disruptions.
Residents in Ho have endured numerous instances of water cuts, ranging from short interruptions to extended periods without service. These disruptions significantly impact daily life, hindering essential activities like sanitation, hygiene, and food preparation.
The repeated disruptions in water supply erode public trust in the GWC's ability to deliver consistent and reliable service.
As residents lose faith in the GWC's ability to deliver, many households seek alternative water sources. Majority of these households are resorting in drilling boreholes and digging wells. Th
Most of them are requesting the GWC to uninstall their water meters from their homes as it becomes useless. As they are now selling their new found reliable water to the general public.
Me: how is Ghana water company going to generate revenue if at least 50% of the connected households are off the grid?
