I have seen media attempts to make it look like the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) is “just one group,” unilateral in it’s decision making etc etc, well they clearly don’t understand the depth and strength of what GRNMA really is.
➡️GRNMA with over 120,000 active members in Ghana and abroad, ultimate holder of the bargaining certificates, is not a monologue but a coalition of highly specialized professional societies, united under one umbrella, dedicated to protecting and advancing the welfare of ALL nurses, midwives, and allied professionals in Ghana.

4.👩⚕️Ghana Society of Perioperative Nurses
5.🩺 Critical Care Nurses Society
6. 🧠Mental Health Nurses Society
7. 🧑🏫Nurses and Midwife Educators Society
8. 🛏️Physician Assistants & Certified Registered Anaesthetists Society
9. 🚼Paediatric Nurses Society
10. 🧑⚕️Nurse Practitioners Society
11. 👃Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Nurses Society

➡️Each of these groups (led by national and regional executives) are represented in decision-making. When GRNMA makes a move like declaring a strike or negotiating a Condition of Service it is done together with reps/leadership of these groups.
➡️But has any of these societies broken away, absolutely NO!
So who are those groups antagonising the ; these are groups who recently broke out for reasons best known to themselves and struggling to woo members using diabolic tactics, with an unclear motive of operation.
➡️So yes fragmenting the profession only weakens our negotiating power and opens the door for exploitation, but GRNMA continue to make every effort to involve
