We took a drive out yesterday afternoon to find some beaches that we had not found before and i can recommend that when you are in Kefalonia you take a visit. The beaches are small and beautiful.
Agia sofia is the first beach and Chorgota beach was second. Horgota beach has no parking so you have to walk some of the way down to the beach. As usual there are cats waiting for food.

Kefalonia is a great place to live. We have hot sunny weather in the summer and a couple of bad winter months. The winter can be very wet and cold but winter here is short.
The island is two different places in the summer and winter. In the summer we have beautiful blue sea and sunshines everyday. In the winter we have glorious waterfalls and lush green land.
When we was moving here people would say " Have you experienced a Kefalonia winter yet". I was dreading the winter here but although the rain can last for many days the island is so beautiful it is worth it. The island has a different beauty from summer to winter. I am looking forward to the winter with hot chocolate to drink and an open fire to sit by.
Its a shame there are no direct flights to Kefalonia in the winter as the winter season is great for walking and finding waterfalls and caves.The roads are quiet and no traffic .
The only way to reach the island in the winter from England is via Athens and then a small plane or boat to Kefalonia.

Hercules and the Lion and our local restaurant whoch has been a great hit with some of our guest. If you are looking for Richmond villa look out for the statue of Hercules and the lion.

Zervati cave in sami
We had heard about this cave and found it at last. Its on a short walk and easy to get too. The water is a beautiful blue. If there was not so many bugs on the top of the water i would have ventured in. There was eels in the water too . Worth a visit if your passing that way.

The Cave Chapel of Saint Barbara in Kefallonia

Found this when exploring yesterday just outside Argostoli in Prokopata. It is a chapel in a cave .
