Your builder in Guyana says the house is 75% done. Before you send another payment from Toronto, New York or London, find out what that 75% is actually measuring.

On a 2,500 sq ft house at standard spec, GYD 28,000 to 32,000 a square foot, the builder's contract is GYD 70 to 80 million. Add site works and a 10% contingency and your project is GYD 86 to 106 million. So 75% of his contract is about 60% of your project. He's quoting his contract correctly. It just isn't your whole house.
