Hiram Ip grew up in a family that loves to explore food, as his father writes a weekly food column in the local daily, he made it an ‘Ip family’ event to go together and try out different restaurants. “Hiram, please take pictures of the food”, that became his role in the Ip family whilst the others take notes and scribble down recipes and cooking tips shared by the chefs. All of this began before the days of instagram bloggers, and the Ip family are lucky to be in a city where new restaurants seem to sprang up on a weekly basis, with many Michelin restaurants and visiting chefs. These tastings often became our focal points of gathering with visitors and friends.
