After the last post about Tiu Keng Leng🚇, we will talk about the Choi Hung community this time 🌈 . You may pass by it every day during the semester, but have you ever considered living there?🤪
Choi Hung is located in Kowloon📍 and it only takes a 20-min minibus ride🚎 to visit HKUST. The housing types in Choi Hung are mainly public housing estates 🏢with few stand alone buildings and small residential complexes. People may think that living in a stand alone building lacks common facilities ⛲️and often charges higher building renovation fees. However, from the perspective of a university student or young people, it is still a rather good option. First, it is more affordable. Second, tenants usually do not have to bear the renovation costs, therefore, it is unnecessary to worry about it.
Today we will introduce Bay View Gardens and Fortune Garden to you. They were built in the early 90s and located within 3 mins walking distance to MTR station. For a 2-bedroom flat, it is around 15k with > 400 sq.ft.
There are supermarkets, wet markets, Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre, fast food restaurants and Dai Pai D**g in Choi Hung. However, it lacks big shopping malls and parks. If you would like to go shopping, you may need to spend an extra 15 minutes traveling to Diamond hill or Kowloon bay.
For exercising, there are no promenades or bicycle tracks as Choi Hung is located in an urban area. You can visit Hammer Hill Road swimming pool and sports ground (within 10mins walk) for work out.
In terms of transportation, with Choi Hung Interchange and MTR station, there are lots of transportation choices including bus, minibus, MTR.
As a student, it may not have lots of entertainment facilities, however, you are more likely to find an apartment with only 5000 HKD here. Comment below to share your thoughts!
