Happy Holi! Holi is one of most colorful and exciting festival celebrated by Hindus. Locally known as Fagu, this festival is celebrated on a full-moon day in the Month of Falgun. The festival marks the start of spring and the triumph of goodwill through death of Holika (a demoness). The whole country is immersed in the festival atmosphere on this day. People gather to sing, dance and play with colorful powders and water.

Nepali women today celebrates the annual Rishi Panchami festival, as a part of Teej. On the Rishi Panchami day, the women traditionally undergo a detailed bathing procedure and a puja of the Saptarshis (seven saints). It is believed that the ritual of bath and the puja would help them get rid of any kind of sins they committed knowingly or unknowingly.
This day is celebrated the next day after Ganesh Chaturthi. In this vrata, the people express respect, gratitude and remembrance of the great deeds of those ancient Rishis, who devoted their life for the welfare of the society. The fast is to be observed by women.
