Getting to grips with this little guy 👀 More to come…

Tesco Home had some VERY good finds today 👀✨

Some really affordable pieces that genuinely look so much more expensive than their price tags. Here are my top five:

🍽️ First up, this Delft-style range with the gorgeous gold trim, with prices starting from just €3.50. It looks really designer and would be gorgeous for adding a little detail to a table setting.

🪞 This brushed brass vanity mirror immediately caught my eye. Such a simple piece, but the finish makes it look really expensive.

☕ Then this “My Favourite” mug. I’m a sucker for a good mug 😂 It has the wording on both sides, gorgeous gold detailing and just ticks all the boxes for me.

🕯️ The Winter Rose candle smelled INCREDIBLE, but it was actually the deep burgundy glass that sold it to me. Burgundy is everywhere this season and this would look gorgeous styled coming into autumn and winter.

🐮 And finally, a slightly random one 😂 This shaggy Highland cow draught excluder. A bit of fun, but I actually think it would be so cute in a playroom or kids’ bedroom, or just somewhere in the house as a little talking point.

Is it just me, or are the spiders getting BIGGER… and are there way more of them this year?! 🕷️😳

Anyway, spider season is well and truly upon us, so I’m trying the peppermint hack. I’m sure you’ve heard of this one before, but at this stage I’ll try anything 😂

My mix:
🌿 20 drops peppermint essential oil
🫧 1 tsp Fairy Liquid
💧 Water in a 500ml spray bottle

And don’t forget the Fairy Liquid! Oil and water don’t naturally mix, so the washing-up liquid helps disperse the peppermint oil throughout the water instead of it just sitting on top.

I’ve been spraying it around window openings, doors, drains and anywhere else I think they might be getting in. I’m basically keeping the bottle close by and dousing things as I think of them 😂

Whether it works or not remains to be seen, but my house currently smells like an After Eight, so it’s a fairly welcome experiment. 😂🌿

Just a little reminder that essential oils can be harmful to pets, so be careful where you spray it and keep it away from anywhere dogs or other pets could lick or come into direct contact with it. 🐶

Have you tried this one? Or PLEASE tell me your best spider-deterring hack because I am all ears. 👇🏼

Dunnes are absolutely smashing the homeware lately 👀🤎

Another little browse and another five things I could very easily have brought home with me 😂

☕ The mug, €5. Simple, aesthetic and looks much more expensive than it is. You really can’t go wrong for a fiver.

🪵 Bamboo chopping board, €10. I love anything that’s practical but still looks good enough to leave sitting out on the worktop, and this ticks both boxes.

💡 This little rechargeable lamp was SO cute. Three different light settings and apparently I was so distracted by it that I completely forgot to check the price 😂

✨ Then this battery-operated lamp for €15. I absolutely loved this one. Really modern, a little bit different and perfect for adding some cosy lighting somewhere you don’t have a socket.

🌾 And my PICK OF THE DAY, this gorgeous vase with dried flowers imprinted into the glass 😍 It just looked so designer to me. One of those pieces that looks beautiful even with nothing in it.

Dunnes Home is really having a moment at the minute 👏

Which one is your pick? And more importantly, where am I going for my next Homeware Finds? 👀👇

Can you believe this wall was going to be floor-to-ceiling cupboards? 👀

Sometimes, leaving space is the better decision.

Five finds that caught my eye, and there were some seriously designer-looking pieces for really reasonable prices.

☕ Aesthetic mug, €5. Simple, gorgeous and looks far more expensive than a fiver. An easy one.

🪵 Bamboo chopping board, €10. Practical enough to use every day, but nice enough to leave sitting out on the worktop too.

💡 This little rechargeable lamp was SO sweet. It has three different light settings and I got so distracted by how cute it was that I completely forgot to check the price 😂

✨ Then another little lamp, this time battery operated and €15. I LOVED this one. Really modern, a little bit unusual and such an easy way to add cosy lighting somewhere you don’t have a socket.

🌾 And my PICK OF THE DAY, this vase with dried flowers imprinted into the glass 😍 Absolutely beautiful and so designer-looking. This would look gorgeous even without anything in it.

Dunnes really are getting it right with homeware lately 👏

DIMENSIONS 👇

One of the questions I get asked most is, what size is our utility room? Don’t forget to save this for future reference 👍🏼

It’s 3.45m x 2.7m.

When we were building, I actually wondered if it might be a little on the small side, but our kitchen designer assured me it was a really decent size. And now that it’s finished, I can see exactly what he meant!

We’ve managed to fit in SO much storage, a sink, our washing machine and dryer, a laundry chute AND our air-to-water unit is housed in here too 🙌🏼

It’s definitely taught me that it’s not always about having a huge room. A good layout and clever storage can make such a difference.

For us, this has ended up being the perfect size utility room 🤍
