Esker Arts is inviting the people of Tullamore, Offaly and the wider Midlands to become part of the future of their local arts centre with the launch of Friends of Esker Arts, a new initiative designed to build a community of supporters around the organisation and its artistic programme.

The new initiative will be officially launched with a special concert at Esker Arts on Friday, September 11, at 8pm, featuring an outstanding line-up of artists from across Offaly and beyond, including acclaimed singer-songwriter Tolú Makay.

Offaly County Council (OCC) is proposing the development of a new competition standard swimming pool facility and fitness centre in Edenderry. This facility aims to be one of the premier facilities in the region, serving not only counties Offaly, Westmeath, and Kildare but also beyond, providing a state-of-the-art swimming facility at both national and international levels!

Preparations for the Ploughing 2026 event are in full swing at Screggan. Going to be another amazing year, with just over three weeks remaining, the fields at Screggan in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, are being transformed in anticipation of the 95th National Ploughing Championships, scheduled to take place from September 15 to 17.

We have hit the jackpot! - Irish Rail Temporarily Reintroduces Tea Trolley To Midlands Services. Catering will be provided by sambos-dot-i-e as part of a pilot project on between Dublin and Galway. It will begin in the coming days on certain trips, for staff training purposes.

Offaly Fire & Rescue Service recently announced the arrival of an Eco Class Fire Appliance at Birr Fire Station. Representatives of the fire service have hailed the application as “pioneering” and “next-generation”, stating that it represents a “major investment in emergency response, firefighter safety and sustainability”.

The selling location of Offaly's Lotto jackpot ticket worth a staggering €8,221,849 has been revealed. The National Lottery have announced that the winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Obama Plaza in Moneygall.

The winner has since come forward, and arrangements are now being made for them to visit Lottery Headquarters to collect their prize.
