Maa Kalratri, the seventh form of Navadurga, is
revered as the fierce destroyer of darkness, fear,
and negative forces, embodying the powerful
aspect of the Divine Mother. Her name means "the
dark night," symbolizing the dissolution of
ignorance and the removal of all obstacles that
hinder spiritual growth. She is depicted with a dark
complexion, flowing hair, blazing eyes, and rides a
donkey, carrying weapons while also blessing
devotees with protection and fearlessness.
Though her appearance is terrifying to evil forces
she is deeply compassionate toward her devotees,
guiding them through the darkest phases of life.
Worship of Maa Kalratri during Navaratri is
believed to remove fear, grant courage, and purify
