The old planters here often say that the finest tea rarely stays where it is grown. For generations, the best leaves from these hills travelled across oceans, while what reached most cups elsewhere was often the lower grades. Here, among the mist and silence of the estate, we brew tea the way it was meant to be enjoyed, carefully harvested, thoughtfully selected, and served close to its source. Every cup carries the character of these hills, and every sip tells a kisah of the land, the weather, and the hands that have tended these gardens for generations. 🍃☕️

On 25th April, 2026, the old walls of The Hundred House held another beautiful story. Arundhati & Jeeth began a new chapter surrounded by light, mist, fireflies, and people who loved them dearly.

This time of year at The Hundred House of Thovarimala Estate blooms with moving fireflies. One of a kind experience you only see at the western ghats. For a brief window each year, these forests come alive after dusk, tiny pulses of light flickering through the darkness, creating a natural spectacle that feels almost unreal.

Fireflies aren’t just beautiful, they’re indicators of a healthy ecosystem. Their presence reflects clean air, minimal light pollution, and a balanced environment, something the Western Ghats continue to protect.

This quiet phenomenon is easy to miss, but once you witness it, it stays with you, a reminder of how nature communicates in its own subtle, breathtaking ways.
