"The photo might be a bit blurry, but the memory is still fresh like it just happened!"
It was the 29th of April, 2025 โ a bright Tuesday.
The venue was โOur Palace,โ tucked into the serene bends of Banjara Hills, Road No. 10.
This was where our BNI chapter meeting was scheduled.
And I must admit โ itโs a stunning venue for corporate gatherings. Elegant. Professional. Perfectly poised.
I reached the venue at 6:00 AM.
As part of the coordinator team, I was there early, helping set things up with our dedicated crew.
We arranged the seating, tested the audio-visuals, fine-tuned the lighting โ everything was in place.
Every detail mattered.
That day was special.
I was about to deliver my very first feature presentation in front of a room full of entrepreneurs โ
Not just any audience, but a powerful chapter of 75+ passionate, seasoned business leaders from the city.
An opportunity. A moment of truth.
By 8:00 AM, registrations were complete, and the meeting began โ sharp and seamless.
I was excited. Eager.
But then, something unexpected happened.
A wave of nervousness crept in, slowly but powerfully.
As the voices from the Head Table faded into the background, my mind drifted.
Suddenly, an old memory โ long buried โ came rushing in.
One that had haunted me for years.
I was around eight years old, set to perform on stage for the very first time.
It was a dance performance โ a track I adored and had practiced for relentlessly.
I was dressed in my best, filled with joy, and looking forward to it.
But from behind the curtain, I saw the massive crowd.
The auditorium was dark โ pitch black, yet overwhelming.
And I froze.
My name was announced.
But I never stepped onto the stage.
That moment clung to me for years.
It colored every public appearance I attempted.
A shadow that kept reappearing when I least expected it.
And that morning, at โOur Palace,โ right before my big presentation โ it returned.
I didnโt know why.
But I felt its weight, pulling me back.
Then โ a voice cut through the noise in my head.
The Presidentโs announcement rang out:
โItโs time for the Feature Presentation by Satheesh.โ
And just like that โ something shifted.
A sudden burst of energy surged through me.
I stood up. I walked toward the dais.
I heard my fellow chapter member introduce me to the crowd of over 70 entrepreneurs.
With each step, I regained my composure.
As the introduction ended, I began.
I moved confidently along the aisle.
Made eye contact.
Did not flinch.
My theme was something close to my heart โ
"Start with Why."
I represented my organization 369 Realtors โ
Not just the business, but its deeper purpose.
Its vision. Its philosophy.
Though I walked the audience through four major projects,
What truly stood out was the concept of 369
โ the heart of how we serve our clients and build relationships.
I delivered the presentation within the set 8-minute slot.
It ended with a round of enthusiastic applause.
That sound โ it meant everything.
After the meeting, I was flooded with feedback.
Appreciation. Acknowledgment. Encouragement.
People resonated with the confidence, the message, and the clarity.
Even weeks later, delegates still mention concepts I shared that day.
And that โ that makes me incredibly happy.
It was a journey. But it left me with two powerful lessons:
1. Your past can shape you, but it doesnโt define you.
The perceptions you form, the fears you carry, the stories you tell yourself โ they may feel like truth.
But they are just reflections. Shadows.
You have the power to rewire yourself.
And it's never too late to reclaim your narrative.
2. Always start with WHY.
Whether itโs a career, a passion, a pitch, or a business โ
Be clear about why you do what you do.
What you represent.
Whom you associate with.
And what legacy you wish to leave behind.
If this resonated with you, Iโd love to hear your thoughts.

Letโs grow โ together.
