SDM Drass takes assessment of road condition at Zojila axis
Kargil, March 19, 2024: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Drass, Vishal Atri, along with SHO Drass, S W Namgyal, under the directives of higher authorities, conducted a ground survey of the Zojila axis to assess the road conditions.
Notably, the last stretch of Zojila axis near Dayal area of India Gate was cleared today and snow removal has been done from both the sides by Vijayak and Beacon.
After that, SDM Drass and SHO Drass visited till Baltal area. It was informed that both the road clearance agencies are now widening the road at Zojila axis particularly at avalanche prone areas.
Higher authorities were informed about the situation of the road after which a trial run is now proposed for tomorrow from Minamarg side subject to fair weather and green signal from road clearance agency.
