করম পূজা ঝাড়খণ্ড, বিহার, মধ্যপ্রদেশ, ছত্তিশগড়, আসাম, ওড়িশা এবং পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য এবং বাংলাদেশ ও নেপালে পালিত একটি ফসল কাটার উৎসব। পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মানভূম এলাকার (পুরুলিয়া,বাঁকুড়া,পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর) বাসিন্দাদের প্রাণের উৎসব হল এই করম পূজা। এই উৎসবের মাধ্যমে আদিবাসীদের জল-জমিন-জঙ্গলকেন্দ্রিক জীবন ধারার প্রতিফলন দেখা যায়।

অনেক অগোছালো আর অসুস্থ দেখাচ্ছে তোকে -
- যেমনভাবে রেখে গেছিস তেমনই আছি।
- কথায় কথায় আমাকে এত অপমান করিস কেন?
- অপমান নয়, ক্ষোভ জমে আছে অনেক, কান্না জমে আছে অনেক, সেগুলোই মাথা চাড়া দিয়ে ওঠে।
- ক্ষমা করতে পারিসনা আমাকে !?
একটা অনাথ শিশুকে পথ থেকে তুলে তাকে জীবন দিয়ে ভালোবেসে একটা সুন্দর জগৎ দিয়ে আবার তাকে পথে নামিয়ে দিলে সে ক্ষমা করে দেবে?
- বুঝেছি, তবে সবটা ভুলে যাওয়াই ভালো। কিছু জিনিস কাঁটার মুকুটের মতো হয়; আভিজাত্য, অহমিকা, অসহ্য যন্ত্রণা এক সাথে দেয়...;
সব ভোলা যায়না...
