Someone asked me recently what has kept you in the same city, the same segment, for 27 years?
The answer was simple.
I never got bored of getting it right.
Luxury residential real estate in Kolkata is not a simple market. It looks simple from the outside match a tenant to a property, sign a lease, collect a commission. But the work that actually matters happens long before and long after that moment.
It happens when I turn away a tenant who looks right on paper but doesn't feel right. When I restructure a lease at midnight because a clause wasn't protecting the owner adequately.
When I send someone to fix a geyser the morning after a family moves in because they were too hesitant to call the landlord themselves.
It happens in 1,200 apartments across this city that owners have placed entirely in my hands. In corporate clients who have called me for three consecutive postings in three different cities always landing back in Kolkata, always calling the same number.
It happens in the trust. Which is the only thing in this business that cannot be faked, cannot be rushed, and cannot be replaced by a listing portal or a digital shortcut.
27 years in one city has given me one thing above everything else.
The ability to tell a client I know exactly what you need. And I know exactly where it is.
That is what I do. That is all I have ever done.
