A year after the implementation of the Real Estate Regulatory Act (RERA), only 14,000 real estate brokers are registered with Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA). With more than a lakh of brokers in the state, the number of registration is less than 10%.
MahaRERA has mandated that any broker who wants to sell apartments in a registered project needs to be registered with the real estate authority.

Home sales get an 'affordable' boost, increase 13% in FY18

MUMBAI: In a sign that could signal the beginning of a recovery in the residential property market, housing sales across top eight Indian cities recorded a 13% jump in FY18. This growth, led by affordable housing and mid-income segments, comes after the market witnessed a 5% rise in sales last year.
Lower home loan interest rates and necessary impetus by the government to affordable housing have played key roles in pushing sales.
The government has supported the housing sector through lower Goods & Services Tax (GST) rates, increased tenure of loans under Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) and extended income tax benefits to apartments of 645-sq-ft carpet area.

Top 10 India office markets witness 11%-26% rental growth in Quarter 1

MUMBAI: The first quarter of 2018 has witnessed a 23% year-on-year increase in office space demand, with pan India absorption recorded at 11.4 million sq ft of with the intensifying office demand, the rental values have also increased in several active micro-markets across India. Of the top 10 micro-markets that witnessed highest on-year growth in rentals, six were recorded to be in Bengaluru with 11-26% rise, showed a Colliers International report.
The commercial real estate market is likely to remain robust with increased investor activity, sustained demand from technology companies and growing interest from various industry occupiers like manufacturing, flexible work space, logistics and warehousing. The demand will be well supported by Grade A new office supply of about 117.0 million sq ft, which is scheduled for completion over 2018-2020,” said Ritesh Sachdev, Senior Executive Director, Occupier Services at Colliers International India.
