Today on 07-08-2023, the Worthy Deputy Commissioner Poonch Yasin M Choudhary alongwith Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Poonch Er. Rajinder K Sharma visited village Banwat Gundi and inspected the JJM scheme work over there.
A Special Gram Sabha under Jal Jeevan Mission, a part of *Fortnight Celebration* by district Jal Jeevan Mission Poonch in Collaboration with ISA, Society For Scheduled and Backwards was also organised at Village Banwat Gundi in which Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Poonch Mr. Rajinder K Sharma was the visiting officer. Earlier, the Worthy Deputy Commissioner Poonch,
the Assistant Executive Engineer Poonch Ashiq Hussain, AE Mr. Nasir and the entire field staff of Jal Shakti (PHE) department alongwith Sarpanch of the concerned village, Paani Samiti members, PRIs, AWWs, Asha workers and the staff & students of high school Banwat were also present in the Special Gram Sabha. The Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Poonch addressed the gathering and briefed them about the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Poonch also visited Govt High School Banwat Gundi and interacted with the staff and the students. He addressed the students and delivered a detailed lecturer on Jal Jeevan Mission scheme.
He also talked about the water conservation I.e Rain water harvesting and grey water management and the role of Paani Samitis in the successful implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission.
The headmisterss of the school thanked SE hydraulic circle Poonch for visiting in their school and for delivering a much needed lecture to the students.
A School *Rally* was also organised in Village Banwat in which the Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Poonch, Assistant Executive Engineer Poonch, AE, field staff of Jal Shakti department, Paani Samiti members,prominent citizens of the concerned village, Students and staff of high school Banwat participated.
The *source water quality testing* was also conducted in presence of officers of Jal shakti department, Sarpanch, Paani samiti members & students.
The Sarpanch and other participants of village Banwat appreciated the Govt of India for launched much needed scheme which aimed at providing safe drinking water, 55 per capita, to every household.
