S.K Belvalkar, a civil engineer with extensive experience in the construction industry. Belvalkar Housing is one the most prominent branches of Belvalkar Group. Belvalkar Housing is not your everyday run of the mill construction company. In addition to providing apartments at affordable prices, they have developed eco-friendly residential complexes. Eco-friendly projects include residential comple

xes such as the Ishant Shrusti. Ishant Shrusti is a residential complex which comprises 141 apartments. The project was created so that there would be minimum reforms in natural topography. Also, the layout was designed by studying the sunlight’s path and wind directions. Other eco-friendly features include water recycling and provision for solar water heating. Another feather in the cap for Belvalkar Housing is its Solacia project. The entire project is a township project. The project is designed so that the moment a vehicle drives in it goes straight into the basement. This ensures minimum noise and air pollution. Education is the most important aspect of a person’s life. The Belvalkar Group took an initiative by entering the education sector. The Jyotirmay International School; a division of the Guruvarya Belvalkar Foundation, aims to bring quality educational facilities in Pune. Marathi literature has a rich history. But, people read less and less of it today. Hence the Belvalkar Group has initiated a project called ‘Aisi Akshare’. It is a magazine meant to promote Marathi literature and persuade people to regenerate their interest. The year 2012 saw the publication of the 100th issue of ‘Aisi Akshare’. Currently, The Belvalkar Group is successfully run by Mr. Sameer Belvalkar.
