WHEN YOUR GRADUATION PHOTO HAS YOU SITTING AT THE BOTTOM OF A POOL… 😭😂
This might be one of the coolest—and slightly ridiculous—graduation photos you’ll ever see. 🤯
The Royal Canadian Navy has a unique tradition where clearance diver graduates pose together at the bottom of a swimming pool in full uniform.
And yes, they actually have to stay down there long enough to take the picture. 😭😅
To stop themselves from floating back to the surface, some divers use weights in their pockets.
Depending on their position, others may have access to scuba equipment, while students farther back can have to hold their breath.
And the photographer doesn’t exactly have all day…
Once everyone is positioned, there may only be a few seconds to capture the shot before someone needs to come up for air.
One bubble, one awkward movement, or one person floating away and… congratulations, everyone, take two. 😂
Even the photographer has a challenge: underwater lighting, murky water, stray bubbles and movement can make a seemingly simple portrait surprisingly difficult.
But somehow, they pull it off…
It’s a hilarious-looking photo with a serious achievement behind it…
And honestly, what better way to remember graduating as a Navy diver than making sure your entire class literally goes down together? 😂
