Versailles and Venice don't always land on the same itinerary, but with Airelles Palladio now open, the unique pairing can make for one of Europe’s most memorable trips.
Guests can stay at Airelles Château de Versailles, Le Grand Contrôle at one end and Airelles Palladio, Venice at the other, traveling between the two overnight aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, with Airelles’ insider access opening doors at both locations.
As the only hotel within the palace grounds, Le Grand Contrôle gives guests a side of Versailles most visitors never see. Once the crowds head home, the Hall of Mirrors is theirs to wander, and mornings can start with a quiet tour of the Trianon before the gates open.
Over in Venice, Airelles Palladio sits on Giudecca Island, just across the water from St. Mark's Square but a world away from the bustle. Days exploring the city wind down in the hotel's gardens or spa, and an evening visit to St. Mark's Basilica comes without the usual crowds.
The trip works just as well in reverse.
