A great day in the history of Lari as we held sensitizations and elections for the ESCARPMENT Belt Irrigation water project.

This project that was promised by the president will be of great importance since it will provide adequate water for irrigation to our people.

This project transverses Gathumuri,Kijabe,Machani,Matathia,Korio,Mbau in,Matathia,Kabunge,Escarpment,Kiruiru and Gitithia areas and will serve over 10,000 homesteads.

This project being undertaken by the national government will harness enough water for irrigation across the various areas.

This project will boost crop yields, supports food security, and helps our farmers earn a good living . It will enables
year-round farming, even in dry periods create more job opportunities and stimulate local economy all year through.

Now at Matathia headed to Kijabe then Maaimahiu. Next will be earthworks from Matathia to Kimende then Kirenga to Kagaa. We will also be tarmacking the area around Kijabe Hospital.
Once this Maumau road circuit is complete it will open up our areas and ease transportation.
