Minnesota Fall 2024 Market Snapshot 🏠🍁

This fall, the Minnesota real estate market is a balancing act of inventory, interest rates, and buyer affordability. While home prices saw a modest increase of about 3.2% year-over-year, we’re also experiencing a noticeable slowdown in sales activity—sales dropped by over 10%, yet available homes for sale rose by around 10%​ . High mortgage rates, recently hovering around 7%, are a key factor. This rate trend pressures buyers' budgets and makes monthly payments less affordable, keeping some from entering the market altogether​ .

So, is it a good time to sell? With limited housing stock and a stable price environment, sellers are still in a good spot, especially for well-priced homes. Yet, a cautious approach may be wise as the market gradually cools, providing buyers with more negotiating power than in previous years. Whether buying or selling, staying informed about market shifts is essential as we head into the year’s end!
