Sifuna can have a serious chance if he becomes the opposition/coalition flag bearer, especially if the people supporting him across different regions unite behind him.

Recent polling gives some evidence of growing support: a July 2026 TIFA survey found 44% of ODM supporters preferred Edwin Sifuna as the party's presidential candidate.

But I wouldn't say he is guaranteed to win. For a presidential candidate to win in Kenya, he needs to build support beyond his traditional base, unite the opposition vote, have strong turnout, and meet the constitutional requirement of more than 50% of valid votes plus at least 25% in 24 counties.

It's my observation:::

> **“If Edwin Sifuna is given the presidential flag, he will not be running alone. He has a growing network of people behind him across the country. What matters now is unity, organization and taking that support to every county. If the people behind Sifuna remain united and mobilized, 2027 could be a very different political contest.”**

*The Last Stand of the Buffalo King*

A pride of lions surrounded an aging buffalo that had once ruled the plains. The younger buffaloes begged him to flee, but he planted his hooves firmly into the earth.

When the lions charged, the old king did not chase them one by one. He waited until they came within reach, then struck with such precision that their formation collapsed. Seeing their leaders fall back, the younger lions lost heart and retreated into the tall grass.

That evening, a young calf asked, "Grandfather, how did one old buffalo scatter many lions?"

The old king smiled and replied, "Because they counted my years, while I counted their mistakes."
