This home is even more beautiful in person. It's a short walk to Galle road where all the shops, restaurants, and beach are located. You can take a tuk-tuk for 200 rupees (inexpensive) or you can enjoy the walk and say hello to friendly neighbors as we did. We really enjoyed staying on the property where Shanaka and his family also live. His parents were very friendly and made us a special fish meal with Ceylon tea. It was the best thing we ate the entire time, and the food in Hikkaduwa is awesome. One of our favorite things about the villa was the surrounding garden, lush with tropical flowers, trees, and the occasional monkey! At the end of our stay, we needed transportation to Kandy and Shanaka was kind enough to offer us a ride for a good price. Peace and tranquility in a perfect location
I've been so impressed with my stay at the guest house As someone who often travels solo I found the kindness,honesty and reliability of the family who manage the house second to none.From start to finish they couldn't had been more helpful,The guest house is situated in a quiet,safe location which I loved (especially if you enjoy a lye in) The beach and everything else you need is a short walk away great value for money 10/10 - Darren Cook

Shanaka and his family werek ķvvIiu just ùovv amazing. Very welcomong and helped with whatever we needed amd theyre little son is a legend! The room was spacious and very clean with an aircon so good we had to turn it off after 10 minutes. A close walk to the main beach with friendly neighbours along the whole way. 12/10 would recomend to anyone thinking about it. George

We spent only one night in this really beautiful colonial style house surrounded by a beautiful garden. perfect place to stay away from the noisy road of Hikkaduwa but only 10 minutes by walk from the attractions of the main road and beach. Room and bathroom ( private but the door in front of the room) was the cleanest we have seen during our sri lankan trip ! this was verry pleasant ! We have been welcomed by Shanaka's father who also live in this house. Don't know how the welcoming would be if we would stay longer but it was ok for one night. Maybe because the other AirBnB room we booked in Sri Lanka were more like " professional" guesthouses.

his was an absolute gem to find. I was traveling with my girlfriend and two other friends. There was a little confusion about it being an entire house for rent. We thought it would be its own structure but it was a section of a larger home. The home, it is part of, is unreal. It’s huge, well decorated and absolutely gorgeous. There are verandahs everywhere and lots of areas to spend time outside. Shanaka made our stay amazing. He helped let us know where to go and how much to pay to get there. He spent time arranging a great area for all of us to hang out together. The rooms were huge, the beds were extremely comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and had hot water, and everything was very tidy when we got there. It's great for just a couple or a group of friends. We had the room with the attached kitchen and were able to cook breakfast everyday. It's off the beach a little ways so it's perfect if you prefer a quiet place to sleep. We would stay there again if we ever find ourselves in Hikkadua.

We really enjoyed our stay at Walawwa, clean and cool with a scenic walk to the beach. It's a great location away from the tourist buzz so really peaceful. Would definitely recommend it.
