Casa Bella Vista, originally built 1978, was gutted & totally rebuilt in 2010-2014 as our holiday and retirement home. All materials meticulously hand-picked many of which from N. Perched on a hilltop overlooking the Med (elevation 450 m. ) we enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Italian Riviera & the green-clad hinterland with small villages &, in Winter, snow-capped peaks. 5 mins. basic a
menities - 5 more mins. to the coast/beach. The provincial capital, Imperia, is ca. 25 mins. away as is Sanremo in opposite directions - both with train & bus connections. In between are numerous charming seaside resorts with their beaches, restaurants & bars, etc. as well as one major & one smaller marina. Two golf courses are in the area. Shopping malls, supermarkets, etc. are ca.15-20 mins. The surroundings are a green oasis of rolling wooded hills & olive groves "sprinkled" with charming small villages with the azure-blue Med and snow-capped peaks in the background. In clear weather one can see Corsica and the coastline of Tuscany to the South of Genoa and Cap d'Antibes in the distance. The upstairs comprizes a large, airy and open living/dining/kitchen space with direct access to a large outdoor terrace ideal for alfresco dining/entertaining., as well as the master bedroom (oversized double bed) with ensuite master bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. The downstairs guest area comprizes a guest bedroom (standard double bed), a combined office/guestroom (hide-away sofa bed), a guest bathroom, the laundry area and storage areas. There is direct access from both bedrooms to an immense wooden deck and the pool area. The outdoor kitchen and dining area is accessed by stairs leading down from the wooden deck area. The garden to the East of the house has been kept "natural" - not developed or cultivated so far. The garden to the West of the house, adjoining the terrace is planted with trees and flowers. There is a herb garden on the lower level next to the outdoor kitchen area. The house is decorated in a minimalistic style with a maritime theme (solid oak ships-deck floor upstairs). It is suitable for maximum four adults, but more ideally, for families with 2-3 older children. Four-legged canine family members are very welcome. The property is laid-out for outdoor living with a large alfresco kitchen & dining area with electricity, running water and a large cast iron BBQ overlooking the Med. Very peaceful, quiet villa community set on the hilltop above the charming village of Cipressa with a few good restaurants, mini-supermarket, ATM, pharmacy and shop carrying a wide variety of "necessities." What is not in stock today, can be ordered for delivery tomorrow. 10 minute drive to the beach resorts or marinas with a good selection of excellent restaurants. 20-25 minute drive to major shopping areas and cities. Ideal for hiking & cycling - walk out the door & you can walk for hours through the woodlands to the next little charming village or navigate the mountain bike trails that are everywhere. Dedicated paved bicycle track running along the coast from Sanremo to Imperia. Getting around without a car is difficult. There are good train and bus connections to both Sanremo & Imperia & Nice airport with service by numerous low-cost carriers is ca. 1 hour away.
