The first floor, accessible via an external staircase (a classic Gozitan touch!), houses the other two bedrooms, each with its own unique charm.

We started this project knowing the kind of floor we wanted but not knowing what it’s called. It’s and that’s just describing the shape of the slab. Cangatura is mostly cut from żonqor or franka limestones. We found a mixture of the two saved from three torn down houses in Malta.
The tiler said they are the heaviest tiles he has ever laid. Not too bad when knowing they were probably hand cut!
Soon we’ll have to think about grinding / polishing them, then coating. Any info on ċangatura care greatly appreciated.
