Nooooo bueno!

Tropical Storm Marie is intensifying southwest of Cabo San Lucas and expected to become a hurricane within hours. Capitanía de Puerto ordered all Los Cabos ports closed since 6 p.m. yesterday.

Wave heights are forecast to exceed 10 feet, and officials are urging fishermen, tour operators and mariners to secure vessels and suspend all navigation. Visitors with water-based activities booked for the next few days should expect cancellations.

The storm is tracking northwest toward the Baja California Sur coast. Heavy rain, gusty winds and dangerous surf are expected through midweek.

Many of you are asking about Cabo due to the uprising in Mexico. Everything at Casa Flamingo and in Cabo itself are just fine. One of the greatest things about Cabo is that it is located at the bottom of Baja California and separate from the main body of Mexico. There has always been a strong presence of the Mexican Ferderales in Cabo and everything safe and just fine. Thanks.
