Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. The simplicity is beautiful; family, friends, gratitude and connection fostered by food. Preparing the meal together, sharing the actions of the kitchen. Bumping into eachother as she grabs a tasting spoon and you search for a mixing bowl you know is already in use somewhere else. Everyone in the kitchen at the same time are peak moments. I love it!

So a few weeks ago, when I had no other option than to purchase THE ENTIRE grouper from the last panga of the night at Punto Lobos, a Baja Thanksgiving came to life. The approximately eight-year-old ‘cabrilla’ hauled from the depths of the coastal Pacific, would be our turkey. We would honor the catch by inviting friends, cooking together and roasting the catch over a fire. The end result was the best fish taco I’ve ever had, plus an incredible evening under the baja stars.

From my family to yours, we wish you a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. We are so grateful to have opportunities to host special events and create a space to connect with food and family.
