So sorry for the lack of posts! Alot happening for VMA Property Management and Vistas Marbella the next few days.

A) Bradley Ganske and I rode and completed a new map of the route 1 colectivo! Stay tuned, it will be published soon!

B) Welcoming two new clients to the Puerto Morelos family! Lots of setup and prep work to make sure their transitions are as smooth as possible.

C) Vistas Marbella is hosting their 3rd wedding on the beach and have been busy making the Bride and Grooms' day is as magical as possible!

So excited for these new opportunities! Thank you all for your continued support!

Downtown PM news. Very busy crews helping with the sargasso abatement and the boat is running along the barrier. Also, lots of progress on the front end of the dock. Hopefully it will be finished this month. Yay!

Sargasso update: yep, still here. More importantly: DOCK CLOSURE. The dock will be temporarily closed and embarkations for excursions will be from shore. But it's for a great reason.

We are finally getting the rest of the dock repair promised. They have brought in new supports and will be replacing the very sad front end of the new dock! Super exciting and very cool to watch them work. Check it out!

Feliz Martes! Today we played hookie at one of our favorite cenotes. 7 bocas. 250 peso day pass for locals and 400 for non residents. Beautifully groomed property with a zero entry cenote, perfect for all ages.

Feliz Lunes! Today we talk about THE POWER!!!! Like the energy that provides electricity, aka CFE.

Its about that time of month and I thought we could talk about 3 CFE specific things.

A) Due date. Reading the bill, the day comes first, then month followed by year. Many, myself included, have thought the year was the due by date: NOPE. Also they will cut service immediately.

B) Bill pay. Can be done online, through the app (CFE or Bank) with a Mexican Bank account. If you dont have a Mexican Bank account, you can pay cash at the office or at Oxxo. Exception for Oxxo is no bill over 10,000 pesos or if it is over due. If you try to pay online after the due date, restoration of services can take days. Best way is at a CFE office in PDC or Cancun.

3) Most important: check your usage. You do not want to be in the DAC category. (High consumption) This category no longer is given any discount or government subsidies and you have to stay below that threshold for 12 straight months to get back to normal. I have attached the usage schedule for your information. (Marked with the #5 for reference)

Tips and Tricks for this Sunny Thursday afternoon. Do you have unwanted guests? Specifically teeny tiny ones that live on your kitchen counters? The sugar ants!

Although harmless to people, no one wants a spoonful of sugar ants in their morning coffee. Here's what we suggest: Terro Ant Bait.

One small drop of this potent liquid, which has borax as the main ingredient, diligently kills ants by attracting them to the liquid. Once they head back to their nest a single ant can destroy the entire colony. Non poisonous to humans and pets, one drop will do the trick.

We purchase ours on Amazon or at Home depot.

Happy Monday Friends. The port is closed today due to wind, but some other cool things are happening with this breeze: the dispersement of the Ceiba Tree seeds. (Called the cotton Silk Tree in the US).

Ceiba Was the Maya Symbol of the Universe. The Ceiba tree, known as Ya'axche' by the Maya, is a sacred, towering entity believed to connect the three levels of existence: its roots in the underworld (Xibalbá), trunk on earth, and branches in the heavens. Considered the "Tree of Life" and axis mundi, it represents the cosmos and symbolizes life, fertility, and strength.

So when you see the cotton fluff all over town, that is the way the Ceiba spreads its seeds.

If you are so lucky to have a seed germinate and start a baby Ceiba, treat it with reverance. Let it grow to about 20cm and then find a sacred spot in your heart and yard to plant it. Never pull it out by its roots. Bad luck. This is the Tree of life we are taking about.
