Sunset, hammock, salt air — this is the rhythm of a Sayulita summer. Some days the only thing on the agenda is watching the sky change color.

The View From Above

The most sustainable decisions are often the ones you don’t see.

Long before the first foundation was imagined, this hillside was studied as an ecosystem. Existing tree canopies, natural drainage patterns, solar orientation, and topography informed the placement of every building, pathway, and shared space.

At Jardín Iguana, architecture follows the landscape rather than reshaping it. Rooftop solar generation, preserved green corridors, permeable surfaces, and a pedestrian-focused site plan work together to reduce environmental impact while enhancing the daily experience of living here.

What emerges is not a collection of buildings, but a community woven into the existing ecology of Sayulita’s landscape.

At Jardín Iguana, we strongly believe that thoughtful development can create homes, preserve habitat, and strengthen the relationship between people and place.

🌿 Where the jungle meets the sky.

———

Before there were renderings, floorplans, or foundations… there was the land. 🌿

More than 100 existing trees.
Ocean views stretching over Sayulita.
A hillside that felt deeply connected the residents to nature and the rhythm of our town below.

In this conversation, developer and architect Juan Carredano shares why the team knew this parcel was the right place to bring the vision for Jardín Iguana to life.

From the beginning, the goal was never simply to build residences.
It was to create a community intentionally designed around the landscape itself, preserving the feeling of coastal living within the jungle canopy.

From Madrid to Mexico City…
to London and the Pacific coast of Sayulita—

Javier and Juan have spent decades shaping spaces that feel as good as they look.

They met in architecture school in CDMX and went on to develop premier residential and commercial projects across **Madrid, London, CDMX, Puerto Vallarta, and over 14 years in Sayulita**.

Their work is defined by clean lines, natural materials, and a deep respect for place—more living art than architecture.

At Jardín, that vision continues.
