Please take note of the following official update from the State Government of Johor *effective from 1 July 2025*:
📌The Registration Fees on the Memorandum of Transfer (MOT) for properties above RM500,000 have increased.
📌Application fees for State Consent have increased to RM2,000 per title, with appeals increased to RM3,000 per appeal.
📌The Levy payable to the State Consent for foreign purchasers will be revised as follows:
• Residential: Increased from 2% to 3%, minimum amount increased from RM20,000 to RM30,000.
• Commercial: Increased from 2% to 3%, minimum amount increased from RM20,000 to RM30,000
• Service apartments valued at RM1mil and below: Minimum amount increased from RM20,000 to RM50,000
• Industrial properties: Increased from 2% to 4%
To elaborate:
• SPAs signed and stamped before 1 July 2025 will remain subject to the current 2% rate, provided that submissions to the Johor Land Office is done before 29 August 2025.
• SPAs signed and stamped on or after 1 July 2025 will be subject to the revised 3% / 4% rate.
