At a certain age, you need to be honest with yourself.
Sometimes, when you really sit down and reflect, you'll realize that your child has some of the same traits you had when you were younger.
There's a saying: "An apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
Children don't just listen to what we say, they watch what we do. Their first teachers are their parents. Yes, they learn from school, friends, church, and society, but many of their habits and attitudes begin at home.
Before you're too quick to blame your child for a particular behavior, take a moment to ask yourself, "Did I ever do something similar? Am I unknowingly modeling this behavior?"
Many times, children are simply reflecting the environment they grew up in.
If we want our children to change, we must also be willing to look in the mirror and change ourselves.
The example you set today may become the character your child carries tomorrow.
