ALALE OF AKUNGBA LAND ATTENDS INSTALLATION OF NEW OLUSUPARE OF SUPARE-AKOKO AS GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE

His Royal Majesty, Oba Isiaka Oseni Adu, JP, Agure I, the Alale of Akungba Land, joined other eminent traditional rulers and dignitaries at the official presentation of the Instrument and Staff of Office to His Royal Majesty, Oba Fasusi Richard Adewale, the newly installed Olusupare of Supare-Akoko. Among the royal fathers in attendance were, The Olubaka Of Oka Land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Adebori Adeleye, OON, the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe, the Owa Ale Adimula, The Asin of Oka-Odo and The Olusin of Owalusin, Iwaro-Oka, in a colourful ceremony that celebrated the rich cultural heritage and traditional institution of Akokoland.

Representing the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olaide Adelami, formally presented the Instrument and Staff of Office to the new monarch. The Governor described Oba Fasusi’s emergence as the product of a transparent and lawful selection process rooted in established customs and traditions, urging the monarch to lead with wisdom, fairness, humility and an unwavering commitment to peace and development.

Governor Aiyedatiwa also commended the kingmakers, community leaders and all stakeholders for conducting a peaceful selection process. He appealed to all contenders for the royal stool and the people of Supare-Akoko to unite behind the new Olusupare, emphasizing that harmony and collective support are essential for the community’s growth. The Governor further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across Ondo State and encouraged traditional rulers to continue partnering with government in safeguarding lives and property.

In his acceptance remarks, Oba Fasusi Richard Adewale expressed profound appreciation to the Ondo State Government for officially recognising his emergence as the Olusupare of Supare-Akoko. He pledged to uphold the cherished traditions of the kingdom while promoting justice, inclusiveness, peace and socio-economic development, assuring his subjects of selfless and purposeful leadership.

The presence of the Alale of Akungba Land and other revered monarchs underscored the unity and enduring bond among the traditional institutions of Akokoland. The historic occasion marked the beginning of a new chapter for Supare-Akoko, with renewed hope that the reign of Oba Fasusi Richard Adewale will usher in lasting peace, progress and prosperity for the kingdom.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Isiaka Oseni Adu (JP), Agure I, the Alale of Akungba Land, honored the invitation to attend the Oka Day Yam Festival.

The management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) today paid a courtesy visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Isiaka Oseni Adu (JP), Agure I, the Alale of Akungba Land, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the cordial relationship between the University and its host community.

Leading the University’s delegation, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tomola Marshal Obamuyi, appreciated the royal father and the people of Akungba for their continuous support for the institution. He appealed for sustained collaboration while highlighting some of the University’s pressing needs, including the construction of additional academic buildings and student hostels, as well as the provision of solar power facilities across the campus to improve electricity supply and enhance teaching, learning, and research.

In his response, the Alale of Akungba Land warmly welcomed the University’s management and expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ondo State for his support for both the University and the host community. Kabiyesi urged the University’s management to explore viable ventures and production initiatives capable of generating sustainable revenue for the institution, rather than relying solely on allocations from the state government. He emphasized the importance of developing innovative, income-generating projects that would strengthen the University’s financial sustainability and support its long-term growth.

The royal father further requested increased security within and around the University campus to guarantee the safety of students, staff, and residents. He also urged the University management to give greater consideration to qualified sons and daughters of Akungba in employment opportunities, particularly in both senior and junior administrative positions. In addition, Kabiyesi appealed to the University to continually educate students on responsible road use and adherence to traffic regulations in order to reduce accidents within the community.

Speaking during the visit, Chief Dr. Bode Iwaloye, the Asiwaju of Akungba Land, emphasized the need for the University to further appreciate its host community by immortalizing notable personalities who contributed significantly to its establishment and development. He suggested that one of the University’s buildings be named after the late Chief Adebayo Adefarati, former Governor of Ondo State, in recognition of his contributions. He added that all requests presented during the meeting would be carefully considered and deliberated upon by the Akungba Community Initiative Council (ACIC).

Also speaking, Chief Dele Olowogorioye, Chairman of the Akungba Community Initiative Council (ACIC), expressed confidence in the leadership of the new Vice-Chancellor, stating that the community believes his administration will record remarkable achievements and deepen the relationship between the University and Akungba.

The University’s Registrar, Dr. Grace Olubunmi Babalola, expressed gratitude to members of the University community for their support and cooperation. She also appreciated the Alale of Akungba Land and the entire host community for their support to the institution over the years and appealed for continued collaboration throughout the tenure of the new administration.

Offering prayers, the Grand Chief Imam of Akungba Land, Alhaji Adams Sh*ttu Arikeyuyo, prayed for divine wisdom, a successful tenure for the University’s management, and continued peace, progress, and prosperity for both Adekunle Ajasin University and Akungba-Akoko.

Similarly, Otunba Prof. Ven. Bode Ekundayo assured the University’s management of the unwavering support of the Akungba community, stressing that the host community remains committed to working with the University for mutual growth and development.

The visit concluded with a renewed commitment by both the University management and the traditional institution to sustain their longstanding partnership in promoting educational excellence, community development, and peaceful coexistence.

The Alale of Akungba Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Isiaka Oseni Adu (JP), Agure I, has declared that Akungba is destined for greater heights as the community celebrates the 2026 New Yam Festival alongside the First Anniversary of his Coronation.

Speaking during the historic celebration, the revered monarch expressed profound gratitude to God and appreciated the sons, daughters, and friends of Akungba at home and in the diaspora for their unwavering support, commitment, and contributions to the development of the kingdom.

Kabiyesi described the New Yam Festival as a cherished cultural heritage that symbolizes thanksgiving, unity, prosperity, and the preservation of the community’s rich traditions. He noted that the first anniversary of his reign marks a significant milestone in the collective journey toward a more peaceful and progressive Akungba.

Alale reaffirmed his commitment to promoting development, preserving the cultural values of the kingdom, and fostering an atmosphere where every resident can thrive.

“Akungba is bound for greatness. With unity of purpose, love for one another, and a shared commitment to progress, our community will continue to witness remarkable growth and development,” the royal father stated.

Also called on all indigenes and residents to embrace peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and tolerance, stressing that sustainable development can only flourish in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.

He urged the people to remain steadfast in supporting community development initiatives, respect traditional institutions, and work collectively towards building a stronger and more prosperous Akungba for future generations.

The celebration attracted traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, religious leaders, youth groups, and well-wishers from within and outside the community, who gathered to honour the rich cultural heritage of Akungba and celebrate the successful first year of the monarch’s reign.

PRESENTATION OF HIGH CHIEF OLORI OF OKELE QUARTER

The Palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Isiaka Oseni Adu, JP, Odundun Asodedero, Agure I, The Alale of Akungba Land is pleased to announce the formal presentation of Pastor Daniyan Samuel Aderemi Babatunde* to the throne.

Pastor Daniyan Samuel Aderemi Babatunde was today presented to His Royal Majesty by the Okele Community* of Akungba-Akoko as the newly appointed *High Chief Olori of Okele Quarter

The presentation ceremony took place at the *Alale Royal Palace, Akungba-Akoko and was well attended by dignitaries including Chief Oluyofin Member of Alale-in-Council, Barrister Duro Adonis, Elder Dele Yakubu Chairman of Akungba Day Committee, Bishop Asimalowo Samuel Religious Leader, other Members of Ihare-in-Council, Community Leaders, Family Members, and well-wishers from Okele Quarter both home and in the diaspora.

In his address, the representatives of Okele Community described High Chief Daniyan as a son of the soil who is known for his integrity, commitment to community development, unity and service. They noted that his appointment is in line with tradition and with the consent of the people of Okele Quarter.

Receiving the nominee, His Royal Majesty Oba Isiaka Oseni Adu, JP expressed appreciation to the Okele Community for following due process and for presenting a worthy son.

Kabiyesi charged the new High Chief Olori of Okele* to uphold the customs, traditions and heritage of Akungba Kingdom, to be a bridge between the Palace and the people of Okele Quarter, to promote peace, unity and progress within the community, and to support Kabiyesi’s vision for a greater Akungba Land.

His Royal Majesty prayed for wisdom, long life, and a successful tenure for High Chief Daniyan, and assured him of the Palace’s full support and blessings.

The presentation marks another milestone in the continuous strengthening of the traditional institutions across Akungba Kingdom under the reign of His Royal Majesty.

The Palace congratulates *High Chief Daniyan Samuel Aderemi Babatunde*, the entire Okele Community*, and the family of the new High Chief on this historic occasion.
