THE PROMISE OF TRUE FRIENDSHIP

The prison van arrived.

The prisoners were lined up one after another.

Each person was counted before entering the vehicle.

The prison commander looked at Michael.

"Where is your friend now?"

Michael answered calmly,

"He is coming."

The guards laughed again.

"It is already 11:57."

Just as Michael was about to step into the van...

A voice echoed through the prison gate.

"Michael! I'm here!"

Everyone turned around.

David came running with tears streaming down his face.

He rushed to Michael, and the two friends embraced tightly, crying like brothers who had found each other again.

The entire prison yard fell silent.

Even the officers were moved.

The prison commander wiped tears from his eyes.

"I have never witnessed such loyalty."

He looked at both friends and said,

"A man who is willing to die for his friend... and a friend who returns to keep his promise... deserves mercy, not death."

He ordered the guards to remove their chains.

"Neither of you will die today."

David and Michael fell to their knees, thanking God.

As they walked away together, the commander smiled.

"I will never be the man who separates a friendship like yours."

Moral of the Story

A true friend is not only there during laughter but also during the darkest moments of life. Loyalty, sacrifice, honesty, and keeping one's promise are treasures more valuable than gold.

THE PROMISE OF TRUE FRIENDSHIP

Before the officers could take David away, Michael stepped forward.

"Take me instead."

Everyone looked at him in disbelief.

"What are you saying?" the chief officer asked.

Michael replied, "My friend needs to go home one last time. Let him see his family. Let him put his affairs in order. I will remain here until he returns."

David burst into tears.

"No! I can't leave you here."

Michael smiled.

"I trust you, and you trust me. Go home. I know you'll come back."

The officers laughed.

"No one ever returns to face death."

But after a long discussion, the prison commander agreed.

"If your friend doesn't return by noon tomorrow, you will die in his place."

David held Michael tightly.

"I promise. I will return, no matter what."

Back home, David hugged his wife, kissed his children, and spent precious moments with his mother.

Everyone wondered why he was acting differently.

Finally, he revealed everything.

His wife cried bitterly.

His mother begged him not to return.

But David shook his head.

"My friend is risking his life for me. I cannot betray him."

The next morning, before sunrise, David rushed to the airport.

Unfortunately, his flight was already preparing for takeoff.

He ran, shouting,

"Please! Stop the plane! I must save a life!"

Hearing his desperate cry, one passenger volunteered to leave the flight so David could board.

Meanwhile, back at the prison, the guards mocked Michael.

"Your friend has abandoned you."

Michael smiled confidently.

"My friend will come. I know him."

The clock continued ticking toward noon.
