This was a very bold statement I made during our last management retreat.

I honestly wasn’t planning to post it because conversations like this are usually for people who are willing to face the truth about their lives.

But here it is:

The reason many people remain average is because they are always acting their age.

At 20, they think like every other 20-year-old.
At 30, they think like every other 30-year-old.
At 40, they think like every other 40-year-old.

Yet they expect extraordinary results.

The people who change their lives are often those who think ahead of their age, learn beyond their age, take responsibility beyond their age, and make decisions beyond their age.

If you keep doing what everyone around you is doing, you’ll likely keep getting what everyone around you is getting.

Different results require different actions.

The decisions we make today don’t end with us—they shape the generations that come after us.

Every house built, every business started, every piece of land acquired, and every investment made contributes to the future we leave behind.

Many of the opportunities we enjoy today exist because someone before us thought beyond themselves. In the same way, the choices we make today will determine what our children and grandchildren inherit tomorrow.

This is one reason I encourage Africans in the diaspora and those at home to consider investing in Africa, especially in real estate. We have a responsibility not just to build wealth, but to build a legacy.

The future is not something we wait for; it is something we create.
