Rep Lukman Mudashiru-Facilitated Workshop, Osun Teachers Get Tabs, Cash Gift
At least 300 teachers across the Ayedire, Iwo and Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency in Osun State have been trained at a train-the-trainers workshop facilitated by Rep Lukman Mudashiru on Thursday.
Funded by the National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM), the workshop trained teachers across different levels of public school in the constituency through a well-curated subjects on how to adapt technology to their work as educators.
The federal representative said that the programme was a cardinal organ of his multi-pronged approach to upgrade educational infrastructure in his constituency and enhance the capability of the teaching workforce in tandem with the innovative drive of the Governor Ademola Adeleke government in the state.
The programme expected the beneficiaries to transfer the knowledge gained at the workshop on to their colleagues, thereby having concomitant and ripple effects on the whole system with students as the ultimate gainers.
The trainees committed to stepping down their new knowledge to their colleagues at work, even as they expressed gratitude for the devices given to building their capability at delivering excellent teaching outcomes in their schools.
"This training is really impactful. It's an eye-opener and I am speaking for everyone," said Mr. Oyelese Olanrewaju Johnson, the NUT Chairman in Iwo Local Government. "Technology is at the heart of modern teaching and learning, and for effective teaching to take place, teacher must understand and be able to apply or make use of latest devices. As teachers, we wake up everyone to design teaching plans for our students and in doing so, we conduct research by consulting textbooks and online resources. So, I think what this workshop has done is to simplify how we go about these very important activities."
Rep Mudashiru appreciated the teachers for attending the training and gave each attendees N50,000 to cover their transport fares and other ancillary expenses.
