A LOCKED BOX KNOWS THAT NOT EVERY HAND DESERVES ACCESS
The funniest thing I saw as a child was my little cousin crying because he couldn't open my grandmother's old wooden box. He shook it, begged it, even threatened it as if the box could hear him. My grandmother laughed and said, "If every hand could open it, nothing inside would still belong to me." We all laughed that day, but years later I realized that old woman wasn't talking about the box alone, she was talking about life. A locked box knows that not every hand deserves access, yet many people keep leaving their hearts, dreams, secrets and peace wide open for anyone who knocks.
Think about it 👉 We lock our phones with fingerprints, lock our houses before sleeping, lock our bank accounts with passwords, yet we hand over our trust to people who have never earned it. Why do we protect our money more than our peace? Why do we give strangers front-row seats to our private lives and then cry when they become judges instead of supporters? Not everyone who asks personal questions cares about you and not everyone who smiles at you is celebrating you. Access is a privilege, not a right.
The painful truth is that many betrayals happened because the wrong people were given the right access. The friend who mocked you knew too much because you told them everything. The person who destroyed your confidence first studied your weaknesses through your own words, then people call you proud because you became private. Since when did wisdom become pride? Why are those who refuse to respect your boundaries always the first to complain about them? 🤔🤔Even a bank welcomes customers every day, yet its vault remains locked.
Your heart is not a public park, your mind is not a free Wi-Fi connection, your dreams are not community property. If a locked box can protect what is valuable without apologizing, why can't you? Stop feeling guilty for saying no and stop believing everyone deserves your time, your energy or your deepest tho
