Remembering Legendary Chinua Achebe On His Birthday Today

Golden Oldies is remembering Chinua Achebe on his birthday today (Age 82, November 16, 1930 – March 21, 2013). Was a Nigerian novelist, poet, professor, and critic. His first novel Things Fall Apart (1958), often considered his best, is the most widely read book in modern African literature. He won the Man Booker International Prize in 2007. In the West, Achebe is often referred to as the "father of African literature", although he vigorously rejected the characterization.
