BREAKING!!! President Tinubu Signs Bill To Reintroduce Old National Anthem Into Law

President Bola Tinubu has finally signed the bill seeking to reintroduce the old national anthem into law.

Politics Nigeria reports that Godswill Akpabio, senate president, announced this at the joint sitting of the senate and house of representatives on Wednesday.

Akpabio said the president signed the bill into law on Wednesday morning.

Governor Alia's visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to progress have reshaped the landscape of governance in Benue State.
In just one year, he has embarked on a transformative journey, propelling our beloved State towards prosperity and excellence.
Notable achievements include the construction of standard roads, installation of street lights in the metropolis, procurement and donation of Hummer Buses to Benue Links Company Ltd., renovation of Benue State Secretariat, and construction of an interchange underpass at High Level Roundabout in Makurdi and Gboko.

Furthermore, the comprehensive reform of the education sector, particularly through the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has been exemplary. The Board headquarters now wears a new look with numerous physical infrastructural developments undertaken. These include the construction of the Executive Chairman's new office complex, remodeling of a standard block into a Digital Resource Centre, renovation of Permanent Member Representing Zone B's office and Secret Registry block, renovation of Board Secretary's office, renovation of Open registry and procurement office, renovation of Physical Planning and Technical Services block, landscaping and interlocking of the office premises, construction of customized office gate and signboard, renovation of Perimeter fence. On behalf of the Staff and Management of the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and Public Order, Benue State, thank you for your first anniversary as the Governor of Benue State. This milestone marks a significant period of dedicated service, progressive leadership, and transformative governance in the state and the Ministry of Justice.

Through your visionary policies and inclusive approach, we have achieved 29 projects and legal innovations at the MOJ in Benue State. Worthy of mention are physical projects like the renovation of the Hon. Attorney General’s Chambers; availing the ministry with electric transformer and reconnecting the Ministry to the 33KVA; creation and hosting of a website where all marriages conducted in the Benue State Marriage Registry are computerized (97% completion), amongst others.

As the Attorney General, I am privileged to witness your commitment to upholding justice. the rule of law, and good governance, which culminated in the granting of full financial autonomy to the State Assembly and the Judiciary.

Your support for our legal reforms and the judicial system has been instrumental in the establishment of the Public Order Directorate in the Ministry of Justice, establishment of legal service department in all the Benue State ministries, constitution of a garnishee/judgment-debt committee to resolve issues of garnishee orders against Benue State accounts, the release of 12 inmates in Makurdi by the Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy, re-activation of Human Trafficking Task Force, amongst other innovations.

Your Excellency, your achievements in the area of road projects, transportation, and security over the past year have laid a solid foundation for the continued progress of Benue State. Only one Nigerian, Wole Soyinka, has won the Nobel Prize for Literature to date. He was awarded the prize in 1986 "for his aphoristic shortness of style and the exuberance of style that makes his political writings an indictment of tyranny and a plea for freedom and human dignity." Chinua Achebe, another renowned Nigerian writer, was considered a strong contender but never won the prize during his lifetime.
