THE STORIES OF THE IJEBUS
I like the story of the Ijebus, in early 70s, those ijebu dominated the ojota community and they all build their face me and face you houses and rent the houses out. After, the ijebu people build house of their own, they will now be thinking of buying motors. They don't even mind the distance. Ojota was far to the mainland then and it was bushy but Ijebus came into the bush to live.
You and I that were born in those era knew that few of the ijebus buy motor before they pass on. Some, later sold their houses in Lagos with reasonable money and went back to their home town to build mansion and run small biz with the money and patiently wait for their death. Sir, ma,those guys ruled us way back in ojota because we were their tenant, we must for our rent and in return settle their bills for sustainability.
Some of our fathers had made a serious mistakes of their lives and they live to regret it till yesterday that they had past away to their ancestors. They never think of buying land let alone thinking of building it.
But today, Ojota and Ogudu is a big town and living there is very expensive yet some young minds still living in the illusion of the present age without thinking of investing in properties. They say Mowe is far, Abekuta is a village, sango is bushy, and so on.
youth want to live in VGC, Banana highland, snake highland, lion highland but quickly they have forgotten cash flow is an opportunity, it can vanish away and they will be left with nothing.
Well, there are still land in Mowe/Ibafo area, Blue Stone shelter prime estate is selling for 4million with flexible payment plans. Like I use to say, nobody is telling you to come and live there but buy and wait and see what will later happen when the road is fixed. Then you will know that you can wake up and become a millionaire.
