Nigerian Law Does Not Acknowledge Christian/Church Marriage as Legally Binding

Christian or church marriage has no legal standing under Nigerian law. The legally recognized forms of marriage in Nigeria are:

1. Islamic marriage
2. Statutory marriage
3. Customary/Traditional marriage

Any marriage that does not fall within these categories is not legally binding.

A churrch may obtain a license to serve as a venue for statutory marriage, but such marriage is conducted under the authority of the Ministry of Interior, not the church. The government-issued marriage certificate is the only legally valid document. A church-issued marriage certificate holds no legal recognition unless the church is duly licensed to conduct statutory marriages. Therefore, individuals should avoid marrying in churches that lack such licensing.

Don’t risk your future — make sure your marriage is legally recognized. Contact a licensed marriage registry or legal expert today to secure your statutory marriage and protect your rights.

Chasing Value, Not Just Access

There’s a difference between getting a man to sleep with you and getting a man to build with you.
Sometimes you’ll hear some girls boasting, “I can have any man I want at any time.” Some of these girls even say men are cheap. And men like me will be watching and laughing when they spill such words. What they don’t realize is that there’s a big difference between getting a man’s attention and getting his intention.

Access is not the same as value.
Yes, you may be able to attract any man, to get his attention or desire — but desire is easy to get. Commitment, on the other hand, is very selective.

Stop confusing availability for achievement. A man being attracted to you is not a trophy. A man choosing you consistently, publicly, and responsibly — that’s the real difference. You can get attention from men, but can you command respect from them?

There are men who will easily give you access to their bodies, their money, even their time — but access to their future? That one you have to earn.

You can get access, attention, time, and desire, but intention, commitment, and value — those you cannot force.

This message is not just for our sisters alone — our brothers are included too. Stop saying girls are cheap or “I can get any girl I want at any time.” Let’s start boasting about things that truly matter:
♦️I can venture into any business and succeed.
♦️I can walk into the President’s office, negotiate, and secure a contract.
♦️I can work in an oil company.
♦️I can invest in real estate and build lasting wealth.

Let’s shun immorality and start boasting about our salvation, our spiritual growth, and our relationship with God.
May God help us all. 🙏

If this message speaks to you, share it with someone who needs to hear it. Let’s spread values that build, not break. Drop a comment, like, and follow for more reflections that challenge and inspire. Together, we can shift the narrative.

Stop Blaming Agents: The Real Reason Rents Are Skyrocketing

Often, people claim that real estate agents are fully to blame for high rental prices because we “advise landlords to increase prices for commission.” I find this view too narrow. As someone working within the system, I can confidently say the issue is much deeper than just feelings.

In Owerri, renting a brand-new 2-bedroom apartment in areas like Spibat, Ikenegbu, ShopRite Axis, New Owerri (especially Concord & Protea Hotel axis) now costs at least ₦2,000,000 per annum — in a city where hotels and filling stations are the main businesses.

Are agents responsible for:

♦️ Rising land acquisition costs?
♦️ Escalating prices of cement, steel, and other building materials?
♦️ Developers having to pay for roads, water, and electricity themselves?
♦️ Banks charging high interest and making it hard to get cheap housing loans?

Housing development is capital-intensive. Developers take on huge financial risks long before properties hit the market. Without government support — accessible mortgages, lower financing costs, tax incentives, and public-private partnerships — affordability will remain a challenge.

Blaming agents ignores the deeper economic realities driving prices. If we’re serious about affordable housing, the conversation must shift from blaming individuals to fixing the bigger problems in the system.

Yes, some agents act wickedly and don’t care about struggling renters — may God deliver us from them. But 80% of the problem comes from high material costs. Government needs to step in and regulate market prices. Imagine cement selling for over ₦10,000 per bag.

The real solution lies with the government. It must regulate the prices of building materials and other key inputs to stop housing costs from skyrocketing. At the same time, government should create and enforce low-interest housing loan schemes so ordinary people can afford to rent or own homes. Without these steps, affordable housing will remain a dream for many.

Land Buying: Don’t Be Fooled by Looks, Verify Everything

That perfect-looking land in pictures and videos might not be safe to buy. A fine gate, nice fencing, and a confident agent don’t guarantee a smooth deal. Land problems don’t announce themselves—they hide in small details:

♦️ Unverified documents
♦️ Poorly checked surveys
♦️ “Don’t worry, it’s genuine” assurances

Buying land isn’t about vibes; it’s about quiet due diligence that saves you from loud problems later. Before you pay, make sure you’re buying peace of mind, not just space.

If you’ve ever come close to buying land and later heard some shady story about it, you know exactly how that feels. Stay away from agents who care more about your cash than your peace of mind.
