Alone...
Whitney Houston, the American singer and actress, known as one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 220 million records sold worldwide, was recorded to have drowned tragically in a tub with about 12 inches deep water, back in 2012.
Drowning will be naturally expected to happen in a large body of water, an ocean, a river, a pond or even a pool. But 12 inches deep was just about enough to drown the embattled Pop and RnB star. Whitney had such a magnificent voice and presence, who would have thought that the Rolling stoneย named second-greatest singer of all time could be drowned in 1 foot of water, alone.
I have gone down this memory lane to point out my takeaway from Whitney Houstons demise, which is the fact that most times we assume that the depth of the river or the pool is what ought to draw caution; but the truth is anyone can drown in shallow waters when they are alone in their troubles.
It may not seem like a lot in your own estimation, but people are dealing with serious issues. Do not wait till they jump into an ocean before you notice they can drown. Sometimes just being there with a listening ear and showing support can go a long way to inspire people to survive. You may not be able to solve all their problems, but you have solved the problem of "being alone", because we all can use a caring friend in our time of distress.
Share your life with someone this week, check on your friends and be sure that what you think is nothing isn't actually drowning them.
Enjoy your week.
