RECONSTRUCTION and PRICING of Kolawole shops, Saki.
The demolition and reconstruction of Kolawole shops started as a mere speculation before the reality befell on the occupant just last week on a eve of the Friday prayer session while virtually every of the occupant where listening and calling on there Lord. Coming back to meet the unfortunate scene was a big shock to them and every reasonable and kind hearted individuals. Anyways, that has been done! We pray Allah to grant all affected succour and bless them with a worthy replacement.
In less than a week after the demolition, comes the true picture of the govt and whoever in charge of the controversial reconstruction process intentions as ill-fated, deceptive and corrupt with a very severe and far reaching consequences on all.
Think about this, the least package to get Just one of the proposed shops is fifteen million, fifty thousand Naira (15,050,000) for a duration of 35 years, fine this could be mathematically correct with the facilities abound in the proposed shopping complex just as it was reeled out by the media ambassador of the proposed complex. However, it is not economically correct and infact it is economically nonsensical, deceptive and enslavery. Should the whole complex be secured at that amount with a total of more than 200 shops, meaning a total of over 3 billion naira would be raked into the coffers of the executors.
Why then should people be subjected to paying a whooping 15 million just to secure a Shop in this part of the country for 35years. When the said amount can be used to construct a reasonable and moderate shopping complex as a whole within that arena or even lesser. This is just too deceptive and infact reckless of a partnership with the govt.
Now, you talked about prioritizing the maiden occupant of the demolished shop. How many of the previous occupant do you think can afford that amount for a shop. I think it's a deliberate effort to sideline and replace them with big wigs and money bags and infact no reasonable money bag would like to subscribe to such when they can use same amount to procure space and build a whole shopping complex within that arena.
Consequences! The govt and the executors of this project are just trying to unnecessarily inflate the estate economy of Saki as a whole. There's no problem with a viable estate business as I am a vendor at that Mafik Brown Real Estate Hub . However, viability in estate business should be commensurate and not just necessarily procuring without tangible returns. We have partners across the country and we know how and what a viable estate business means, it's quite not like the ones we are witnessing right here in Saki. The growth in the estate business here is not commensurable and with this, the whole process would go hay wire.
My advice is for the govt and the executors to have a rethink and come out with a better and affordable pricing regime for the people. There's no doubt about the credibility of the project but the pricing makes the whole process worse and not welcoming at all.
