Defamation of a man of God can have serious consequences, both for the individual and for the wider community. Firstly, it can damage the reputation and credibility of the person in question, leading to a loss of trust and respect from their followers. This can have a knock-on effect on their ability to carry out their duties effectively, and may even result in them being forced to step down from their position which in the case of TB Joshua is the borne of contentions between his disciples, the wise men and, prophets Evelyn Joshua. In extreme cases, it can also lead to legal action being taken against them, which can be costly and time-consuming.Secondly, defamation of a man of God can have wider implications for the community as a whole. It can create divisions and tensions within religious groups, as people take sides and argue over the validity of the accusations. This can lead to a breakdown in trust and communication, and may even result in the formation of splinter groups or the loss of members. In some cases, it can also lead to violence or other forms of conflict, as people become more entrenched in their positions and refuse to back down. Overall, the dangers of defamation of a man of God are significant, and should be taken seriously by all members of the community.
SERMON ON THE MOUNT:
Matthew 5:10-12
[10]Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
[11]Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
[12]Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
