10years Already? 👌 👏🏿 👍 🥰 ☺️

It's often said that half of small businesses fail within the first 5 years while by the 10th year, 70 percent of these businesses will no longer be in existence 😢

For me really, there is no magic formula, however, there are some tips that have helped me stay on course and grow our firm in these 10years and l will like to share 10 of them with you.

1. Do you know your why? What is your reason for establishing your business? What problem(s) did you intend to solve? When you know your why, it'll help you stay on course.

2. Know that the journey is not a sprint, it's a marathon. With this knowledge in mind, you will have to develop the fortitude to go through the process 💪

3. Choose value over money. Settle this early, because when you give value, people will pay for it 👌👌

4. Patience, Patience, Patience
Building a business is not 'a walk in the park', there are bumps, hills, rivers to cross, therefore, Patience is a great virtue to possess.

5. Don't compare yourself with your contemporaries. Stay in your lane, focus on your race and run your race at your own pace. 💯 👌

6. Have progress partners around you. Mentors you can glean from, fellow business friends you can share ideas with. You shouldn't go on the business journey alone. When in need of help, ask for it.

7. Treat your staff very well. They are your first clients.

8. Take care of yourself, the business will last the first 10years and beyond to the degree to which you care for yourself spirit, soul and body.

9. Constantly revisit your purpose for renewed drive, energy and focus.

10. Re-evaluate, re-invent and re-calibrate. Assess what worked, what is working and what isn't working. Leverage on this knowledge to reposition for a better journey forward.
