🚨 COMMUNITY ACTION: SUSPECT HANDED OVER TO THE POLICE – DEFILING A CHILD IS LIFE IMPRISONMENT 🚨
Kudos to our community members who apprehended and handed over to Isiokolo Police Division a man over 60 years old for the alleged defilement of an 11-year-old girl. This is how we protect our children — by using the law, not jungle justice.
THE LAW IS CLEAR:
1. Section 218, Criminal Code Act – Sexual in*******se with a girl under 13 = _Defilement_. Penalty: Life Imprisonment.
2. Section 31, Child Rights Act 2003 – A child CANNOT give consent. Any s*xual act with a child is a crime. Penalty: Life Imprisonment.
3. VAPP Act 2015, Section 1 – R**e of any person, especially a child, carries Life Imprisonment with no option of fine.
4. Delta State Child Rights Law 2008 – Adopts the same punishment.
NOTE WELL:
❌ There is NO “settlement” for defilement. It is a felony.
❌ Obstructing justice to free a suspect is also a crime under Section 127 of the Criminal Code.
TO PARENTS & GUARDIANS: Watch your children. Ask questions. Report any suspicion immediately.
TO THE COMMUNITY: We say NO to jungle justice. We say YES to full prosecution. We’ve done our part by arresting and handing over. Now let the court do its part.
A child is not a wife. A child is not for s*x. Protect our children. Obey the law.
