Let me tell you something about Nigerians…
We are one of the most hopeful people in the world.
During COVID, total lockdown, empty streets.
Fear everywhere, the whole world paused. But Nigerians, we adapted. In the middle of a global lockdown, we were still doing inspections..
We had special passes to move around Abuja then, that our then boss got for us. While the world stood still, we kept showing properties.
And guess what? People were still buying.
In the middle of uncertainty, people were investing millions.
That was when people started working from home.
That was when social media became a real business tool.
And for me, that was my first mega sale in real estate, at the peak of Covid-19. During total lockdown, I sold a house in Apo for hundreds of millions through a Facebook ad. I was still working for a company then.
Back then, we sold plots in our estate at Guzape for 25 million.
Today? That same land is worth 300 million.
COVID taught me something I will never forget: there is always opportunity in chaos. That changed my mindset forever.
I stopped waiting for perfect conditions. While the world was panicking, businesses were still growing, people were still investing, and money was still being made.
Because opportunity doesn’t wait for calm; it shows up in chaos.
COVID also taught me something else...
Business is not a location. You don’t need an office to succeed.
That was when I started working from home, and till today, I haven’t looked back. No regrets.
Note: An office is important, but sometimes, you can do without it. Not having an office should not be an excuse.
